Practical Wisdom: Living 5D in a 3D World

Hello, Beloved!
What if one of the greatest barriers to joy isn't what is happening in the world...
but what we've been told about it?
This week, during our Healing Projections Through Current Events class, we explored something unexpected.
Not war.
Not politics.
Not economic collapse.
Not another reason to be afraid.
We explored soccer.
Or football, depending on which side of the ocean you call home.

As visitors from around the world arrived in the United States for the FIFA World Cup, something beautiful began to happen.
People who had spent years hearing stories about America suddenly found themselves experiencing it firsthand.
They expected hostility.
They found hospitality.
They expected division.
They found connection.
They expected strangers.
They found brothers and sisters.
And as video after video appeared online, the same theme emerged:
"This isn't what we were told."
As I watched people from Japan, Scotland, France, South Africa, Ecuador, Mexico, and dozens of other nations laughing together, sharing meals together, singing together, and celebrating together, I couldn't help but think of something Jesus teaches us in A Course in Miracles:
"Joy is your inheritance. You cannot be apart from it."
Joy is not something we create.
Joy is what remains when fear is removed.
Joy is what naturally emerges when judgment steps aside.
Joy is what happens when we stop relating to people through stories and start relating to them through experience.
And isn't that exactly what happened?
These visitors came with stories.
Then they met actual American people.
And the stories began to fall apart.
The ego survives through secondhand knowledge, such as the media.
The Holy Spirit invites direct experience.
The ego says:
"Be careful."
"Stay suspicious."
"Protect yourself."
"Those people are different."
The Holy Spirit whispers:
"Go see for yourself."
"Meet them."
"Listen."
"Be curious."
"Keep your heart open."
And suddenly the world looks very different.
Not because the world changed.
Because perception changed.
One of my favorite moments from the class was hearing about Japanese soccer fans who brought garbage bags to the stadium.
After the game ended, they stayed behind to clean up.
When people asked them why, they simply replied:
"It's the polite thing to do."
No speeches.
No virtue signaling.
No social media campaign.
Just simple kindness.
The kind that appears naturally when we remember we belong to one another.
And that got me thinking.
Maybe humanity is kinder than we've been told.
Maybe most people are trying their best.
Maybe most people want peace.
Maybe most people would rather sing together than fight each other.
Maybe most people would rather share a meal than an argument.
Maybe beneath all the labels and identities, there really is something holy trying to emerge.
The Course calls this the Happy Dream.
Not because the world suddenly becomes perfect.
But because we stop seeing through the lens of fear.
The Happy Dream begins the moment we become willing to see innocence instead of guilt.
The moment we become curious instead of defensive.
The moment we decide to meet one another without demanding that everyone fit our story.
And when that happens, something miraculous occurs.
We discover that love was already there.
Which brings me to today's Lainaism:
"The world changes the moment curiosity becomes more important than certainty."
Read that again.
Because certainty is often just fear wearing a nametag.
Curiosity is openness.
Curiosity is humility.
Curiosity is willingness
Curiosity is the doorway through which miracles enter.
The FIFA visitors didn't come looking for proof they were right.
They came looking for an experience.
And because they were willing to be surprised, they discovered joy.
Beloved,
I believe this is what Jesus has been teaching us all along.
Not that we should ignore the darkness.
Not that we should pretend suffering doesn't exist.
But that we should stop making fear the only thing we see.
The world contains extraordinary beauty.
Extraordinary kindness.
Extraordinary generosity.
Extraordinary goodness.
And the more we heal our own minds, the more available we become to recognizing it.
Because when we stop projecting fear onto our brothers and sisters, we finally become available to discover who they really are.
And who they really are...
is exactly what you are.
A beloved Child of God.
This week, I invite you to practice a little FIFA consciousness.
Meet someone without your story about them.
Listen without preparing your rebuttal.
Be curious instead of certain.
And watch what happens.
You may discover that the world is far kinder than you've been told.
And perhaps even more importantly...
you may discover that you are too.
