Awakening Isn't Enough — You Must Choose Peace

One of the greatest surprises on the spiritual journey is discovering that awakening is not the finish line.

It is the starting line.

Many people spend years collecting spiritual books, attending workshops, listening to teachers, meditating, journaling, studying astrology, receiving energy healings, exploring Family Constellations, pulling tarot cards, and filling notebooks with profound insights.

Then one day something inside quietly whispers,

"There has to be more than this."

That whisper is awakening.

But awakening alone doesn't change your life.

Only embodiment does.

There is a tremendous difference between knowing the Truth and living the Truth.

That difference is where freedom is found.

The Ego Awakens Too

One of the most important realizations I have had is this:

The ego attends every spiritual class you attend.

It reads every spiritual book you read.

It memorizes every quote.

It even becomes fluent in words like consciousness, vibration, forgiveness, abundance, astrology, awakening, and ascension.

It can discuss Truth all day long... while carefully avoiding living it.

The ego loves collecting information because information doesn't threaten it.

Only transformation does.

Many of us unknowingly become what I call spiritualized egos.

We know the language of awakening...

...without actually living from it.

That realization isn't discouraging.

It's liberating.

Because once you recognize it, you stop trying to become more spiritual.

Instead...

you become more honest.

Every Path Is a Bridge

Over the years, I have explored—and deeply benefited from—many beautiful healing modalities.

Each one served me.

Each one helped remove another layer of fear.

Each one brought me one step closer to remembering.

The problem has never been the path.

The question is always:

Does this help me remember who I am... or does it give the ego another identity to manage?

Everything can become a classroom.

And everything can become a cul-de-sac to endlessly spin in.

Astrology can become a classroom.

Gene Keys can become a classroom.

Tarot can become a classroom.

Energy healing can become a classroom.

Alcoholics Anonymous can become a classroom.

Family Constellations can become a classroom.

ET Disclosures can become a classroom.

A Course in Miracles can become a classroom.

The ego doesn't particularly care which classroom it occupies.

It only cares that you never graduate.

Every spiritual path is a bridge.

The ego tries to build a house on the bridge.

We were never meant to live there.

Every teacher, every practice, every insight, every healing modality exists for one sacred purpose:

To help us remember who we are.

Once a bridge has carried you across the river...

you don't pitch a tent in the middle of it.

You keep walking.

The Light Never Left

Imagine entering a room with a dimmer switch.

When the light is fully on, everything is clear.

As you slowly lower the dimmer, shadows appear.

Notice something important.

You never turned on darkness.

You simply turned down the light.

Our experience is remarkably similar.

Every child enters this world radiating innocence.

Presence.

Wonder.

Joy.

No three-month-old wakes up worrying about paying bills.

No toddler wonders whether they're worthy of love.

They simply are.

The Light is shining unobstructed.

Then, little by little, the dimmer is turned down.

Not because God withdrew His Light...

...but because we gradually accepted thousands of thoughts that were never true.

"I'm not enough."

"I have to earn love."

"I must prove my worth."

"I'm separate."

"I'm alone."

Every believed thought lowers the dimmer just a little more.

Awakening begins the moment we realize,

"Wait a minute... maybe these thoughts aren't true."

The Observer Is Who Awakens

This is where the Course in Miracles teachings become beautifully practical.

Your true Self doesn't need awakening.

It never fell asleep.

It already knows.

So who is awakening?

Awareness.

The quiet observer within you who begins noticing there are two voices operating inside your mind.

One voice is always afraid.

The other is always peaceful.

One wants to defend.

The other wants to understand.

One insists on being right.

The other simply extends Love.

The miracle isn't making the fearful voice disappear.

The miracle is realizing...

You are the one listening.

Once you discover the observer, you are no longer trapped inside the conversation.

Now you have a choice.

Peace Is a Decision

This is why Jesus gives us such deceptively simple lessons.

There is another way of looking at the world.

Before you can choose differently...

you must first believe another way exists.

Then comes the next lesson.

I could see peace instead of this.

Notice what Jesus doesn't say.

He doesn't promise that circumstances will immediately change.

He teaches us something far more powerful.

Peace is available before circumstances change.

That is embodiment.

Instead of waiting for life to calm down before experiencing peace...

you become peaceful first.

And then life begins reflecting that peace back to you.

Every Irritation Is an Invitation

One practice has transformed my life more than almost any other.

Whenever something disturbs my peace, I ask myself:

What am I believing right now?

Not...

"Who caused this?"

Not...

"Who's to blame?"

But...

What thought have I accepted that is lowering my Light?

Because every irritation points toward a fearful thought.

And beneath every fearful thought hides an unloving thought about myself.

That is where true forgiveness begins.

Not by fixing the world...

but by refusing to hurt myself with thoughts that could never have come from Love.

The moment I recognize them...

I have a choice.

I can keep feeding them.

Or...

I can remember.

Embodiment Looks Different

People often ask what awakening looks like.

Honestly...

it's difficult to tell.

People can speak beautifully about spirituality.

Embodiment is much easier to recognize.

An embodied person becomes...

slower to judge.

Quicker to forgive.

Less defensive.

More curious.

More joyful.

Less interested in winning.

More interested in understanding.

More peaceful in uncertainty.

More loving in disagreement.

They stop performing spirituality.

They simply become peaceful.

That peace becomes contagious.

Healing prepares us to remember.

Remembering prepares us to create.

And creation becomes effortless because it flows from peace instead of fear.

Integration in Daily Life

Today, don't try to become more spiritual.

Instead...

Become a little more observant.

Notice when your peace disappears.

Pause.

Ask yourself:

What thought am I believing?

Then gently remind yourself:

There is another way of looking at this.

Take one slow breath.

Then ask:

What would peace choose right now?

Not tomorrow.

Not after they apologize.

Not after circumstances improve.

Right now.

Every time you choose peace over being right...

the dimmer turns up.

And little by little...

the Light you have always been begins illuminating everything around you.

Beloved,

God never asked you to become Light.

You already are.

The journey has never been about creating your holiness.

It has always been about removing everything that convinced you otherwise.

Awakening whispers,

"There must be another way."

Embodiment quietly answers,

"There always was."

So keep going.

Don't build your home on the bridge that helped you cross the river.

Let every lesson become lived wisdom.

Let every healing become deeper remembering.

Let every remembrance become joyful creation.

Today...

choose peace.

Not because you've mastered life.

But because peace is what makes remembering possible.

And perhaps...

that is what awakening was always leading you toward.
