Hi Beloved,
The ego has one main trick: it lies.
It whispers that you are guilty, unworthy, abandoned, unsafe. It tells you something is missing, that you need to hustle for love, or that someone else is to blame for your pain. And when you believe those lies, you hand the ego your power — and keep yourself stuck on the battleground.
A Course in Miracles is crystal clear:
“The ego’s voice is a hallucination. You cannot expect it to say the truth.” (T-7.VI.10:1-2)
The ego feeds on your belief. When you try to fix its problems, you make the lie more real. However, when you pause and choose again, you deprive it of its food source.
Here’s the Course’s simplicity:

Peace is the gauge. If you feel peace, you are listening to the Holy Spirit.

Discomfort is the red flag. If you feel guilt, shame, anger, judgment or fear — that’s the ego lying to you.
Instead of feeding the lie, choose the miracle. The miracle is a shift in perception: I am as God created me. I am loved, safe, and whole.
Every irritation is an invitation to notice: Am I listening to fear or to Love?
When you stop believing the lie, you stop feeding it. And in that very instant, the Holy Spirit lifts you “above the battleground,” where peace, clarity, and joy are waiting.
Practice for the Week
Whenever guilt or fear arises, repeat:
“This is not the Voice for God. I choose instead the Voice for Love.”
Notice the instant relief of refusing to feed the lie.

Let this be the week you practice gentle vigilance: notice the lies, forgive them, and choose again. As the Course promises, “I could see peace instead of this.” (W-34) Above the battleground, nothing is required of you but willingness. And willingness is enough to call forth the miracle.
Go in peace, dear One. You are as God created you — untouched, unbroken, and forever loved.
