Practical Wisdom: Living 5D in a 3D World

Beloved Friend,
There are moments when the structures we’ve trusted seem to falter—when systems built to sustain order suddenly pause, revealing just how fragile our worldly foundations truly are. For many, the words “government shutdown” evoke anxiety, confusion, or anger. Yet for the devoted student of A Course in Miracles, this is not a crisis but a classroom—a divine opportunity to remember where true security abides.
The ego mind depends on laws, leaders, and institutions to preserve its sense of safety. It worships control and fears collapse. But God’s law is not of control—it is of freedom. As the Course reminds us, “The laws of God are not laws because they enforce obedience. They are the laws of freedom.” (T-10.IV.3:1-2)
When the world pauses, Heaven does not. When systems tremble, the Kingdom remains still. We are being asked, gently but firmly, to notice how much of our faith we have placed in the shifting sands of form rather than the rock of Spirit.
This is not about politics or policy—it’s about perception. “Seek not outside yourself. For it will fail, and you will weep each time an idol falls.” (T-29.VII.1:1) A government, no matter how well-intentioned, cannot offer the safety of God’s Love. The moment we realize this, fear dissolves, and trust begins to bloom again in the soil of our own courageous heart.
If the ego whispers, “How will I be safe now?” let the Holy Spirit respond:
“If you are trusting in your own strength, you have every reason to be fearful. Yet when you place your trust in the strength of God within you, fear disappears.” (W-pI.47.1:1-4)
Every temporary shutdown in the world is an opening—a chance to awaken to what cannot shut down: the eternal flow of Love, Guidance, and Provision that animates all things. When governments pause, God remains. When the systems of man rest, the Law of Love continues to govern all creation in perfect peace.
Integration in Daily Life
When you feel uncertain or anxious about what’s happening “out there,” pause and affirm:
“I am under no laws but God’s.”
Then breathe deeply and feel what that means. Let your heart remember that your source is not a paycheck, a policy, or a politician—it is the infinite abundance of God expressing as You.

Beloved, every disruption in form is a divine invitation to return to formlessness—to the changeless peace that no government can give or take away. Let us rest in the quiet certainty that we live, move, and have our being in God alone. From this remembrance, compassion naturally extends to all beings, including those caught in the illusion of control.
When the noise of the world grows loud, go within. There, you will hear the still, small Voice reminding you: God remains.
Even when the world pauses, Love keeps moving. May we rest in the quiet knowing that nothing real can ever be shut down.
