Only Love Sustains You

Practical Wisdom: Living 5D in a 3D World
Integrating higher consciousness into everyday life—one miracle at a time!
Beloved,
There is a voice in your mind that has been very busy for a very long time.
It tells you what you need.
It tells you what’s missing.
It tells you what could go wrong.
And if you listen closely, it is always pointing you outward…
You need more money.
You need more certainty.
You need people to behave differently.
You need things to stay the same.
And most of us don’t question that voice.
We build our lives around it.
We organize, protect, strive, fix, and defend — all in an attempt to feel safe, supported, and okay.
But what if that voice has it completely backward?
The Great Misunderstanding
Lesson 50 in A Course in Miracles gives us one of the most direct and liberating truths:
“I am sustained by the Love of God.”
Not sometimes.
Not when things are going well.
Not when life feels stable.
Always!
And yet, if we’re honest, most of us have been taught the exact opposite.
We’ve been trained to believe we are sustained by:
- money
- relationships
- health
- status
- approval
- control
- knowing what’s coming next
And so we spend our lives trying to secure these things…
while quietly living in fear of losing them.
Because anything that can come… can also go in this 3-D world.
And deep down, we know that.
The Two Voices
Lesson 49 tells us something equally powerful:
There are two voices in the mind: God's and the ego.
One is loud, reactive, and constantly commenting.
This is the voice that judges, compares, worries, defends, and tries to control.
The other is quiet.
Steady.
Gentle.
Certain.
It does not argue.
It does not panic.
It does not demand.
It simply knows.
Most of us have spent a lifetime listening to the loud one.
And then we wonder why we feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected.
The Turning Point
The shift doesn’t happen when the ego voice disappears.
The shift happens when you begin to notice it.
When you can gently say:
“Oh… there it is.”
Not with judgment.
Not with shame.
Just honest awareness.
Because the moment you notice the voice that is afraid…
you are no longer inside it.
You are the one observing it.
And that observer?
That calm, quiet awareness that can see the chaos without being disturbed by it?
That is the doorway.
What Actually Sustains You
Here is the truth that changes everything:
You have never been sustained by the world.
Not by your job.
Not by your bank account.
Not by another person.
Not by circumstances going your way.
Those things may come and go…
But you are still here.
Still breathing.
Still aware.
Still capable of peace, love, and even joy — sometimes in the most unexpected moments.
That is not coming from the world.
That is coming from something deeper.
Something steady.
Something unchanging.
Something real.
When Life Takes Something Away
Most of us don’t question what sustains us…
until something is taken.
A relationship ends.
A role changes.
A diagnosis appears.
A plan falls apart.
And the ego says:
“See? Now you’re not okay.”
“This shouldn’t have happened.”
“You’ve lost something essential.”
But if you stay present…
if you breathe…
if you allow yourself to feel without building a story…
something remarkable begins to reveal itself:
You are still here.
And not just surviving…
but still capable of:
- noticing beauty
- feeling love
- experiencing moments of peace
And that’s when the realization begins to dawn:
Maybe what I am… was never dependent on that thing.
A Simple Practice
Jesus makes this incredibly simple.
He tells us:
Repeat the truth.
Not once.
Not when you feel spiritual.
But throughout the day.
Gently.
Consistently.
Let it begin to retrain the mind.
So today, when something arises — big or small — pause and say:
“I am sustained by the Love of God.”
Not as a mantra to convince yourself…
but as a willingness to consider:
What if this is actually true?
What if I am already supported?
What if I don’t need to figure everything out right now?
And then… just breathe.
Integration in Daily Life
Notice where your mind is looking for safety.
Is it in:
- control?
- certainty?
- someone else’s behavior?
- an outcome going a certain way?
When you catch it, don’t fight it.
Simply remember:
“That’s not what sustains me.”
Then gently return to the awareness that is already here.
The part of you that is calm.
The part of you that is not threatened.
The part of you that can observe everything without losing itself.
Stay there… even for a few seconds.
That is where peace begins.
Lainaism
“If it can be taken from you, it was never what was sustaining you.”
Closing Transmission
Beloved…
You are not fragile.
You are not at the mercy of circumstances.
You are not one event away from being okay… or not okay.
You are already held.
Already supported.
Already sustained by something that has never left you and never will.
The world may shift.
People may come and go.
Forms may change.
But what you are…
remains untouched.
Let that be enough for today.
Let that be where you rest.
And from that place…
watch how differently life begins to feel.
We've got this!
I love you,
