When the World Becomes a Mirror

Practical Wisdom: Living 5D in a 3D World
Integrating higher consciousness into everyday life—one miracle at a time!
Hi, Beloved!
Recently, in the Awareness Academy, during one of our Healing Through Current Events classes, we explored what is unfolding in Iran while watching a video of its history.
But the conversation was never really about Iran.
It was about the mind.
In the video we watched together, the speaker described how a free and vibrant society gradually became constrained by fear, conformity, and silence. What struck many of us was not the story's politics, but the psychological pattern beneath it.
A society does not suddenly lose its freedom.
It happens slowly. (Over 47 years for Iran.)
Beliefs begin to harden.
Voices grow quieter.
People adapt to the story they are told.
Until one day, the story no longer matches the truth that lives inside them.
As the conversation unfolded, one of the students shared a realization that brought the entire room into deeper reflection. She said something simple but profound: that human beings are born free, yet over time we learn to conform, to stay silent, and eventually we forget who we are.
And in that moment, the entire conversation shifted.
Because that pattern does not only happen in nations.
It happens in every mind.
According to A Course in Miracles, the ego maintains its control in a similar way. Not through obvious force, but through subtle conditioning. Little by little, we begin to accept thoughts that tell us who we are, what we must fear, and what we must believe.
Eventually, those thoughts feel normal.
Until something inside us begins to question the story.
In class, we discussed three stages that often appear in both societies and individuals, as shown in Chase Hughes' video.
First comes the iron fist, when fear or conditioning seems to run the show. The mind follows familiar beliefs because challenging them feels unsafe.
Then comes the fracture within. Something inside begins to notice the contradictions. The old story no longer feels completely true.
Finally, there is the breaking point, which is less about collapse and more about rebirth. It is the moment when the mind becomes willing to see differently.
Spiritual awakening often begins there.
In the class, we eventually returned to a lesson from A Course in Miracles that felt like the perfect anchor for the conversation:
"God is the Love in which I forgive." Workbook Lesson 46,
The Course reminds us that God does not condemn, and therefore forgiveness is simply the recognition that the judgments we hold — about ourselves or others — were never necessary.
When we condemn the world, we bind ourselves to the illusion.
When we forgive, we release ourselves from it.
This is why current events can become such powerful mirrors. They reveal not only what is happening in the world, but also the beliefs still operating within our own minds.
Where are we still judging?
Where are we still afraid to question the story?
Where are we still looking for someone outside ourselves to save us?
The miracle happens the moment we become willing to look.
Because every time we question a belief that once defined and confined us, the mind expands a little more. The box becomes larger. The truth we once doubted begins to feel more natural.
Freedom does not arrive all at once.
It unfolds each time we choose to see differently.
And sometimes the most unexpected events in the world become the mirrors that help us remember who we are. (And so are they.)
Lainaism
"Every time we question a belief that once defined and confined us, the mind remembers a little more of its freedom."
Closing Transmission
The world you see is not asking you to judge it.
It is inviting you to understand it. After all, it is a mirror.
Every story that appears before your eyes is another opportunity to look gently within and ask:
“What belief in my mind is ready to be released?”
The moment you become curious rather than certain, the door to freedom opens.
And as the Course reminds us, the Love of God is already waiting on the other side of that door.
With gratitude for our desire to be free,
