Holy Awe
What Happens When God Becomes Vast Again?

Practical Wisdom: Living 5D in a 3D World
Integrating higher consciousness into everyday life—one miracle at a time!
Beloved,
There comes a point in the spiritual journey when the mind grows tired of worshipping itself.
At first, we are in awe of the world.
Then we are in awe of spirituality.
We are fascinated by teachers, books, miracles, manifestations, synchronicities, energy, healing, revelations, and mystical experiences. The awakening mind is intoxicated with discovery because something inside us senses there is more to life than survival, achievement, and the endless maintenance of ego identity.
And honestly, this stage is beautiful.
It is part of the journey.
But eventually, if we continue deep enough into Truth, something unexpected begins to happen.
The idols start falling.
Not only worldly idols…
but spiritual ones too.
The need to be “advanced.”
The need to be right.
The need to define Reality.
The need to explain God.
The need to convince others.
The need to feel certain.
And slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, the soul begins to exchange certainty for wonder.
That exchange is sacred.
In our Practical Spirituality and Living 5D class last week, we explored a profound line from A Course in Miracles that says:
“Awe should be reserved for revelation.”
Not for miracles.
Not for personalities.
Not for specialness.
Awe is reserved for the direct revelation of the Creator.
That changes everything.
Because most of humanity lives in awe of effects while remaining disconnected from Cause.
We are impressed by the temporary while overlooking the Eternal.
And yet, something extraordinary happens as consciousness matures.
The mind begins to lose interest in worshipping form.
The endless fascination with:
- status,
- appearances,
- being correct,
- controlling outcomes,
- collecting spiritual concepts,
- and proving ourselves…
starts to feel strangely empty.
Not depressing.
Just… insufficient.
Why?
Because the soul begins remembering that what it truly longs for cannot be contained inside definitions.
And this is where the spiritual journey becomes deeply humbling.
Because eventually we realize:
What we humanly define becomes automatically confined.
The moment we attempt to fully define God, we reduce the Infinite down to the size of our current perception.
That is why no description of God is ultimately sufficient.
Every word is symbolic.
Every concept is partial.
Every doctrine is limited.
The ego desperately wants certainty because certainty gives the illusion of control.
But the soul longs for something far greater.
Holy Awe.
Holy Awe begins when we stop demanding that Reality fit inside the mind’s comfort zone.
It begins when we become willing to admit:
“I do not fully understand what this is.”
And strangely…
that humility opens the doorway to deeper knowing than certainty ever could.
This is why many mystics throughout history frightened religious institutions.
Not because they denied God…
…but because they made God Vast again.
This week, we reflected on the teachings of Meister Eckhart, the 13th-century Christian mystic who said:
“God is at home. It is we who have gone out for a walk.”
What a magnificent statement.
Humanity keeps searching for God in systems, identities, ideologies, rituals, achievements, UFOs, and external authority…
while the Presence we seek has quietly remained within us the entire time.
Meister Eckhart also said:
“The eye with which I see God is the same eye with which God sees me.”
The ego cannot understand this.
Because the ego’s entire foundation rests upon separation.
Yet awakening gradually reveals that we are not separate from God…
we are expressions of God.
That distinction matters deeply.
Separation says:
“I am cut off from Source.”
Expression says:
“Life is expressing itself through me.”
The ego fears vastness because it dissolves the ego's imagined control.
This is why awakening often feels disorienting at first.
The structures that once made us feel safe begin to crack:
- rigid identities,
- inherited beliefs,
- worldly ambitions,
- political certainty,
- spiritual superiority,
- even our concepts about reality itself.
Many people today feel this happening collectively.
The old structures no longer feel stable.
The external world appears increasingly upside down.
And while the ego interprets this as terrifying…
the soul may actually be experiencing an invitation into greater openness.
Even our conversations about consciousness, dimensions, and the possibility of realities beyond our current understanding may serve a purpose beyond mere curiosity.
Perhaps humanity is being stretched beyond the prison of narrow egoic perception.
Perhaps awakening requires the collapse of certainty.
Perhaps God must become Vast again.
Not as a religious idea…
but as a living experience.
This connects beautifully with the Soul’s Journey model I often teach.
We begin in childlike wonder.
Then we descend into the human journey:
learning,
conditioning,
fear,
control,
identity,
and the need to be right.
Eventually, suffering softens us.
Curiosity returns.
Then unlearning begins.
Wisdom emerges.
And finally…
the awakened soul circles back into wonder once again.
Not childishness.
Childlike openness.
Not ignorance.
Sacred humility.
Not blind belief.
Holy Awe.
The awakened soul does not end in certainty.
It ends in Wonder.
And perhaps this is the deeper invitation unfolding for humanity right now.
Not to become more spiritually arrogant.
Not to become more intellectually rigid.
Not to become more attached to being correct.
But to become vast enough to live in reverence again.
To stand before Creation with open hands instead of closed conclusions.
To allow Mystery to breathe again.
To stop worshipping our concepts about God…
and begin experiencing the Presence of God directly.
Perhaps enlightenment is not becoming all-knowing.
Perhaps enlightenment is becoming vast enough to live in Holy Awe again.
I love adventuring into the vast unkown with you!
