What Forgiveness Really Is
"Forgiveness recognizes what you thought your brother did to you has not occurred." — A Course in Miracles

Practical Wisdom: Living 5D in a 3D World
Integrating higher consciousness into everyday life—one miracle at a time!
Hola Beloved,
For years, I thought forgiveness meant becoming a nicer person.
I thought it meant letting someone "off the hook."
I thought it meant overlooking bad behavior, pretending the pain didn't matter, or trying to force myself to feel loving toward someone who had hurt me.
The Course teaches something infinitely more liberating.
It says forgiveness is not about changing what happened.
It is about recognizing that what happened never touched the truth of who you are.
That single realization changes everything.
Not because your human experience didn't include pain.
It did.
Not because your body wasn't hurt.
It may have been.
Not because your emotions didn't suffer.
They probably did.
Forgiveness simply asks one question:
Did any of it touch the Self God created?
If the answer is no…
then nothing real was ever damaged.
That is the doorway to freedom.
The Story That Keeps Us Bound
The ego survives by convincing us that someone else has power over us.
"They hurt me."
"They ruined my life."
"They took something from me."
As long as I believe that story, I must remain connected to it.
Every judgment becomes another chain.
Every grievance becomes another anchor.
Every act of blame keeps me tied to the very experience I say I want to escape.
The ego calls this justice.
The Holy Spirit calls it imprisonment.
Awakening Isn't Enough
Many people are awakening today.
They're reading spiritual books.
Meditating.
Listening to inspiring teachers.
Exploring consciousness.
Wonderful.
Awakening is the alarm clock.
It is not getting out of bed.
Real transformation begins when we become willing to question the stories we've spent a lifetime defending.
Eventually, every sincere seeker arrives at the same invitation:
"Am I willing to see this differently?"
That question is where forgiveness begins.
What Forgiveness Actually Does
Forgiveness does not excuse harmful behavior.
It simply refuses to make that behavior the truth about anyone.
Including you.
When I recognize that your actions came from forgetting who you are…
I no longer need to carry the burden of proving that you hurt me.
Instead, I become free to remember who I am.
Forgiveness isn't something I do for you.
It is something I allow for myself.
Because every person I keep imprisoned in my mind becomes another prison cell I must remain inside.
Integration in Daily Life
Today, notice where your mind wants to say:
"They made me feel..."
Pause.
Take a breath.
Then gently ask yourself:
"Did this touch the truth of who God created me to be?"
Sit quietly.
Listen.
Let your answer come from something deeper than the ego's story.
You may discover that what needs healing isn't your past.
It's your identification with it.
Lainaism
"Forgiveness doesn't change the past.
It reminds us the past never changed the Truth."
Closing Transmission
Beloved,
The ego wants justice.
The soul wants freedom.
One keeps asking,
"Who was wrong?"
The other quietly whispers,
"Remember who you are."
Perhaps that is why Jesus could forgive from the cross.
Not because he denied what happened...
but because he knew what happened could never touch what God created.
The invitation is the same for us.
Not to become better victims.
Not even better forgivers.
But to become willing to remember that what is Real has never been harmed.
And from that remembrance...
our light naturally becomes for giving to the world.
Ready to Move From Awakening Into Remembering?
Spiritual awakening opens the door. Forgiveness invites us to walk through it.
If you're ready to move beyond spiritual concepts and begin living the peace that A Course in Miracles promises, join us inside The Awareness Academy.
Together, we practice the unlearning that leads to freedom, the forgiveness that dissolves fear, and the remembering that reveals who we have always been.

Shift & Lift: A 4-Week Experience
Thursdays, October 15–November 5 | 7:00–9:00 PM ET
Open to all Awareness Academy membership levels
What if the circumstances of your life didn’t have to change for you to experience greater peace, freedom, and joy?
Shift & Lift is a practical process for becoming aware of the thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions shaping your experience—and remembering that you have the power to choose again.
During our four weeks together, we’ll explore the Soul’s Journey, then use the Shift & Lift process with real situations from our lives. Rather than simply talking about choosing Love over fear, we’ll experience how these two thought systems feel in our bodies, recognize what entertaining fear costs us, and practice shifting our perception from contraction toward expansion.
Week 1: The Soul’s Journey — understanding how we moved from wonder into fear, control, and separation, and how curiosity and awareness begin the journey home.
Weeks 2 & 3: Shift & Lift in Practice — working with the worksheet, our own real-life experiences, and one another to cultivate Awareness, Acceptance, honesty, and conscious choice.
Week 4: Integration & Celebration — noticing what has shifted, what we’re catching sooner, and how the practice is beginning to move from something we do toward the way we live.
This isn’t about never choosing fear again.
It’s about becoming really good at noticing when we do—without judgment—and remembering that we can choose again.
Come exactly as you are, and bring your life with you.
Shift. Lift. Laugh. Repeat.

🍿 MOVIE NIGHT: THE MATRIX
What if the world you’ve accepted as reality… isn’t?
Join us Wednesday, October 14th as we watch The Matrix together and explore one of the most provocative questions at the heart of A Course in Miracles: What if what we perceive as reality is actually part of the dream?
After the movie, we’ll stay together for a conversation through the lens of ACIM.
We’ll explore the Matrix as a metaphor for the ego’s thought system—the programming we rarely question because everyone around us seems to believe it too. We’ll look at Neo’s awakening, his resistance to letting go of what he thought was real, and the choice between remaining comfortably asleep or discovering what lies beyond the illusion.
And, of course, we’ll bring it home:
Where am I still defending the Matrix because I need my version of the dream to be real?
This isn’t about analyzing a movie.
It’s about using the movie to analyze our own programming. 🔥
6:00 pm ET • 5:00 pm CT • 4:00 pm MT • 3:00 pm PT
All are welcome. Bring your popcorn—and your willingness to question everything.
This is a FREE event open to ALL members of The Awareness Academy.
